The Haute Hearth: RFG Firebox Tile
Ceramic artist Ruth Frances Greenberg has invented a fire-resistant tile for decoration inside the firebox. RFG Firebox Tile makes it possible for the hearth to be an integral part of the aesthetic of the room, drawing attention to the fireplace even when a fire isn’t aflame.
Consider the idea of the wallpaper or upholstery for a fireplace, an opportunity for design and expression. Customized for each project, this refractory tile and be made in many shapes, sizes, colors and finishes.
RFG Firebox Tile is made with refractory clay and glazes to withstand the high temperatures of a wood or gas burning fireplace. Installation is simple, tile is applied over existing firebrick or masonry.
“The hearth is the center of the home and a natural gathering place,” explains Ruth Frances Greenberg. “Imagine beautifying the hearth with the kind of care put towards the rest of the room.”
